This being Easter weekend, I'm not sure how many photographers have actually played the part of Jesus, but I've had that honor more than once! It may have been because of my long hair, my minor in drama at the University of Georgia, or the fact that no one else in Athens,Ga. would do it...but the here is a photo of one of my performances, the photographer being photographed, photojournalism from the other side of the camera!
I've had the pleasure of covering a wide array of work in my photograhy in Athens,Georgia. Photography in this town is sometimes advertising, sometimes photojournalistic, sometimes just art images. One of the more inspirational events I've covered lately is the graduation of the Bread For Life Class of March, 2010. BFL is a nonprofit organization that helps improve the lives of men and women with hands-on training to begin successful careers in the hospitality industry. It was a heart-warming experience to see these graduates, who created the whole banquet, (from planning to cooking, flowers, presentation...). They each spoke of what the program meant to them, and by the night's end there was a wonderful sense of pride for the graduates and the program in general!
A corporate job that was fun in the last couple weeks was a couple shoots for Zaxbys. They are celebrating a big anniversary soon, and I was busy doing images as a part of that celebration. Zaxbys has been a corpoate client of mine for many years, and photography for this steadily-rising company is always interesting. From the company owners like Zach on down, the company is full of wonderful people that obviously make the difference in the tremendous growth they are experiencing! Doing advertising photography is always interesting-I never know if I will be in a Board Room, or shooting chocolates in a giant cooler (The Orcahrd Gourmet Nuts and Candies). but is always a challenge!
Trumps Catering had a tasting recently, where I was am to speak to clients about my wedding photography. The new facility for Trumps is not far from the camppus of the University of Georgia, and the spread of food was equaled only by the wonderful floral works, including that of European Floral Design. The stunning centerpiece highlighted the main table where Trumps had a beautiful presentation of food that was also perfect for the palate!
Reynolds Plantation is one of my major corporate clients, and a recent photography session in that beautiful lakeside community saw me documenting a corporate banquet to recognize thier employees. Reynolds has an amazing amount of long-term employees, a testament to the way they treat their personnel! Shown is Jamie Reynolds speaking to the crowd.

The University of Georgia is another one of my major clients, and the various colleges within that institution keep me busy at various times. As an Athens, Georgia photographer, working with the University of Georgia is always fun...and again, I never know where I will be next. The job that was most fun in the last couple weeks was the Reunion Weekend for the University of Georgia Veterinary School. Reunion weekend brings lots of folks that are back to campus for a good time, and doing the class photos proved a happy job. It was a lot like doing wedding photography, as people want to have fun... and I just want to catch photos of them doing it! This class had only one male (a typical situation in veterinary schools these days, "everyone knows girls are smarter than guys" one female alum commented!), so the girls decided to have fun with it. I think the male enrollemnt will go up if any guys out there considering pre-vet see this photo!
